The Love of God

When I think about all the people and issues of the world that God has to be concerned with, I stand in awe because He loves me. This love for me did not just begin when I acknowledged Him as God or even when I accepted His Son as my Lord and Savior. On the contrary, His love for me began before the foundations of the earth were formed. Before He fashioned me in my mother’s womb, He loved me. While I was yet a sinner, unaware of His holiness, unaware of His greatness, unaware of His power, and unaware of His Sovereignty, He loved me.

“For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” - 1 Corinthians 2:2

There are many things that can be said about the love of God, but I know that I am able to be in a love relationship with Him only because of the blood of Jesus. The blood that He shed on the cross paid an awesome price for me. For without His blood I would not be able to walk in relationship with a Holy, Great, Powerful, and Sovereign God, who loved me before I could ever love Him. I may not be able to explain eloquently how such a thing could have come to be but I share the same sentiment of the Apostle Paul. I resolve to know nothing while I was (am) with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. (1 Corinthians 2:2)
